SoMa After Dark on South Main Street // Friday’s fun is south of 630. This monthly neighborhood bash features area businesses offering later hours and special activities. Highlights this month include the April bazaar at The Bernice Garden, a Paper Hearts storytime at Community Bakery, Easter crafts at Argenta Bead Company and glass art demos at South Main Creative. The Harlem Globetrotters at Simmons Bank Arena // Whether you’ve got kids to entertain or not, the Globetrotters still put on quite the show. The world-famous team is on its new world tour with “non-stop LOL” fun and lots of opportunities to interact with the players. Bring the kids. Or don’t. Tipoff is at 7 p.m., and guests are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for the Arkansas Foodbank. Learn more here. 

“Little Shop of Horrors” Opening Night at the Arkansas Repertory Theatre // Talk about an appetite. The hit comedic musical takes The Rep stage with a “fresh, new vision” of the particularly hungry plant and her owner Seymour, all directed and choreographed by Stephanie Klemons, the associate choreographer of Broadway sensation “Hamilton.” Showtime is 8 p.m. Learn more here.

The Eggstravaganza at Funland – NEW LOCATION – Eggstravaganza Easter celebration planned for Saturday at Burns Park has been moved (Burns Park Closed). The celebration will now be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Laman Plaza Playground, 2801 Orange St.  

Run to Rebuild Rock City in Downtown Little Rock // After last week’s EF3 destroyed the Rodney Parham shop, the running community is rallying. The Capital City Classic 10K was canceled, but in its place, locals are running the route anyway (with a few different distance options) in order to raise funds for the store. It kicks off at West Capitol and Main at 8 a.m. Learn more here.

Easter Fun at the Market at Chenal // This WLR market is kicking off its 2023 season with springtime fun at 21 Rahling Circle. Along with fresh produce, pastries and local goodies, visitors can also get in on Easter festivities, crafts, games, music, food trucks and more. Plus, organizers will collect donations and provide resources for storm victims. Stop by 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Learn more here.

Spring Canoe Float at Pinnacle Mountain State Park // We’ve got our fingers majorly crossed for good weather this weekend, and one reason is this float trip down the Little Maumelle. The trip is guided and a few hidden areas of the park. Canoes launch at 9 a.m. and return at 2 p.m. Learn more here.

Autism Festival & Walk at War Memorial Stadium // Happy Autism Awareness Month! The Arkansas Autism Foundation is keeping the month-long festivities going with this free fest. The family-friendly day includes food, games, entertainment, an Easter egg hunt and a one-mile walk. Gates opens at 10 a.m. Learn more here.

BoBrook Egg-stravaganza at BoBrook Farms // And now for the second weekend of fresh air on the farm. Along with egg hunts and bunny photos, expect food trucks, hay rides, lawn games, wine tastings and more. Be there 10:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Learn more here.

Forever Thrifted Swap Meet at La Rosa Antigua // This monthly market is getting in on the efforts to build back a hurting community. Alongside the regular lineup of vintage vendors, music, art and food trucks, organizers will be fundraising and collecting donations for the Arkansas Foodbank, as well as offering supplies to those in need. Check it out 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. Learn more here. 

Phenomenal Women Luncheon at Heifer International // Let’s go, girls. Local nonprofit Real Images is all about uplifting and empowering women and girls, and this annual fundraising event is a showcase of just that. The 2023 event has the theme “Victory in Vulnerability” and will honor Dr. Kim Leverett and Amari Briggs. You can join at the pavilions or virtually.
