Strange News: Kidnapped Fat Cat Returned Due to Large Appetite
8:48PM August 22, 2012

Thieves who stole a large purebred cat two weeks ago from a home in Landskron, Austria, have suddenly returned the pet in a move police believe was prompted by their inability to cope with its enormous appetite, Orange.cok.uk reports.

Authorities say Cupid, a pedigree Maine Coon, weighs more than 28 pounds.  Cupid’s owner, Stephanie Frey, says she went to bring out the garbage and returned to her home to find her fat cat sitting in the living room.  Experts say an average Maine Coon can eat three to four times as much as an average cat and has no problem polishing off three cans of cat food in a single sitting.  A police spokesman said, “Maybe the pressure got too much for the thief or perhaps they discovered it wasn’t easy keeping such a big cat with such a big appetite.”
