On Saturday, Swedish police swarmed a suspect passersby described as a lone male wielding an axe, only for cops to discover he was playing a pirate in a children’s treasure hunt.
The children's entertainer was spotted walking barefoot through the urban neighborhood of Östersund, but onlookers somehow didn't see the throng of kids following him. Armed officers approached the man, who recalled to the local paper, "It took a while before I understood that it was me they were after, so I kept walking until they came really close and shouted that I had to drop the weapon. Then I was both scared and stunned."
Cops eventually sorted out the situation and let the pirate go, according to the website The Local.
